Bundesliga and German second division clubs have voted to create an investment fund that will participate in the management of their audiovisual rights, Reuters reports. A total of 24 out of 36 clubs agreed with what was presented by the German Football League (DFL).

The Bundesliga follows the path started by La Liga with its innovative agreement with CVC to launch the LaLiga Impulso project, which currently allows Spanish clubs to accelerate their growth in various areas such as infrastructure or at a commercial level, through an economic injection of almost 2 billion euros.

The system, which France recently joined, also with CVC, has entered into an agreement that provides French professional football with €1.5 billion to use the audiovisual rights of the French league.

How it was collected ServicemediaThe agreement in Germany implies that the future partner of the Bundesliga will be able to receive up to 8% of the commercial income generated by a company specially created for this purpose for a period of 20 years. Revenues that will be estimated between 900 and 1,000 million euros, although this will vary depending on subsequent negotiations with the chosen investor. So far, Advent, Blackstone, CVC and EQT are the funds that have submitted non-binding proposals to become part of the company.
