Senator Simona Tebet (MDB-MS) said this Monday (17) in a social media video that the situation in Brazil worsened under Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and expressed support for former president and presidential candidate Luis Inacio. PT), despite the differences.
Tebet will support Lulu in the second round of elections for “democracy and the future of our country.” The senator pointed to the mockery of the pandemic and the 33 million Brazilians starving in the country. Information taken from the Folha de São Paulo website.
“During the four years of Bolsonaro’s rule, life has become worse. A mockery of the pandemic, neglect of the environment, a catastrophe in the economy. Thirty-three million Brazilians are starving. Almost 80% of families have debts. Brazil can no longer tolerate Bolsonaro,” he said.
“Now we can change, so I’m with Lula. Despite our differences, we are united by much more: democracy and the future of our country. We are going with Lula to Brazil,” the senator added.
Simone Tebet (MDB-MS) finished third in the presidential race and had already pledged her support for Lula earlier this month. She justified her choice by saying that she does not recognize the commitment of democracy in the current president and that over the past four years Brazil has been thrown into the “fire of hatred and division.”
