The Electoral Commission of former President and presidential candidate of the Republic Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) has issued a warning signal for the last leg of the runoff due to social media attacks.
The spread of fake news has been cited as one of the main shortcomings of the campaign. Some members of PT’s leadership have complained about the slowness of stopping the spread of fake news. Information taken from the Folha de São Paulo website.
Removing offensive ads
On this Monday (17), representatives of parties that are part of the coalition with the PT went to the TSE with a request to activate platforms for the rapid removal of materials with propaganda that insults the incumbent.
TSE President Alexandre de Moraes will hold a meeting with various social media representatives to play a video on the subject. Some campaigners are expected to be looking for platform representatives in the next two weeks.
