The bitter dispute between current PL president Jair Bolsonaro and former PT president Lula has been the occasion for an exchange of accusations between supporters of both, especially on social media.
The businessman, who supports Bolsonaro’s re-election, posted the video on his networks this Thursday. “You have a chance to become millionaires. I offer 1 million reais to anyone who brings the case number with a date and an indication that Lula did not commit the crimes of which he is accused, ”the businessman’s note says.
This Thursday Minister of the Supreme Electoral Court Paulo de Tarso ordered by unanimous decision to withdraw the propaganda of President Jair Bolsonaro, which called Lula a “thief”. The minister considered the arguments of the coalition led by Lula and assessed that Bolsonaro’s propaganda “does not respect the principle of Lula’s presumption of innocence”.
Lula was convicted in two cases, the Atibaya Object and Guaruja Object cases, but the convictions were overturned by the STF on procedural grounds.
The Minister noted that “the Federal Constitution clearly establishes the final terms for the presumption of innocence in accordance with Art. 5, LVII, that: “No one may be found guilty until a judgment of conviction in a criminal case has entered into legal force.”
