Former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (Portugal) is already planning to lower the price of gas bottles to R$70 in the first six months of 2023 if he wins the October elections.
The idea is to keep the resources provided to the public through Auxílio Gás and use the resources of the National Treasury to subsidize price cuts by Petrobras. Information from Folha de São Paulo.

According to Senator Jean Paul Prates (PT-RN), this will be the first step towards changing the pricing policy for oil and its derivatives, the so-called PPI ((International Parity Price) in the field of oil and gas.
The idea is to get a weighted average between the price of an imported product and the price of what is produced in Brazil. Thus, this formula applies to all oil derivatives. With this new guidance, it would be possible to create a procedure for “adjusting” prices – up or down – once a month.
