Former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and current Jair Bolsonaro (PL) will have the largest share of radio and television campaigning with equal space for both candidacies.
The candidates’ TV time will be officially announced by the TSE (Higher Electoral Court) after the names of those who will run for President of the Republic have been determined. Information from Folha de São Paulo.
Party congresses officially begin this Wednesday (20th) and end on August 5th. The advertising layout takes into account the weight of the party, coalitions and the number of competitors.
If Bolsonaro’s 13 successor candidates are confirmed, apart from coalitions, Lula, who should have seven parties, will receive the largest TV space with 3 minutes 10 seconds for every 12 minute and 30 second block. Bolsonaro will come shortly after, about 2 minutes and 50 seconds later.
election campaign
The election campaign begins to be broadcast on radio and television from August 26 to September 29, three days before the first round of elections scheduled for October 2.
There will be two blocks of 12 minutes and 30 seconds on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, as well as daily highlights that will air during commercial breaks.
If you confirm your candidacy, pre-candidate Luciano Bivar (União Brasil – the result of the merger of DEM and PSL) will have third place with just over 2 minutes per block.
This is followed by Simone Tebet (MDB) with a time of about 1 minute 50 seconds and Ciro Gomez (PDT) with a time of about 50 seconds.
