For a decade, the dog Apollo has provided important support to the 10th Military Police Battalion, which serves the Blumenau region. On December 13, a few days after his retirement, he died.
The German Shepherd known as K9 Apollo arrived at the battalion at just 45 days old. After his retirement, he went to live with one of the police officers of the corporation in Pomerode.
According to military police, the dog was sick and was not used in any further incidents. Apollo was hospitalized, but he could not stand it and died. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
From 2013 to this year, Apollo helped arrest 234 people and confiscate more than 110 kilograms of drugs, as well as firearms.

In a video posted on military police social media, officers formally said goodbye to the amigo and thanked him for his services.
K9 seemed to understand and even smiled at the greetings from her former colleagues. In the comments of the publication, many subscribers spoke about the furry’s journey.
“To faithful K9 Apollo we offer our eternal gratitude. Their brave paws leave a trace of courage and safety in our memories,” the user wrote.
