Joinville City Hall announces campaign to castrate dogs and cats

The town hall of Joinville in northern Santa Catarina will hold a campaign to castrate dogs and cats next week. The event will take place at CBEA (Center for Animal Welfare) on December 19 and 20. People who have already completed sterilization forms and are on the CBEA registry can bring their dogs and cats by appointment.

Registration for castration is open and can be made by calling (47) 3407-2149 from Monday to Friday from 7:00 to 19:00. Places are limited. The CBEA Animal Adoption Fair will be held on site during the two spay days.

By calling to make an appointment, owners will receive preoperative care instructions, such as how long the animal should fast.

All neutering procedures will take place at CBEA facilities. The event will also involve a castrammobile, and places will be reserved for the post-operative recovery of animals.

“Animals will not be delivered immediately after castration. We will make every effort to ensure their full recovery. Castrammobile is new to Joinville, so it is important that its debut takes place at CBEA, where all the necessary physical support for the post-operative period is available,” explains Elisabeth de Souza Mendes, CBEA Manager.

In addition to the joint effort, CBEA also provides neutering through veterinary clinics and hospitals accredited to provide this service, as well as microchipping. All information about the castration process is available on the Joinville City Hall website.
