This is one of those stories worthy of a sitcom. On Tuesday evening (5) in Joinville, in the north of Santa Catarina, a blanket was mistaken for a jaguar and a real rescue operation was mobilized.
The case was reported on the shore of BR-101 in the Nueva Brasília area around 19:00. A woman called the Joinville Volunteer Fire Department when she came across what appeared to be a ferocious cat that may have been injured.
However, what the team found at the site wasn’t exactly an animal. Arriving at the location indicated in the incident, firefighters came face to face with a leopard blanket.
The case of the alleged jaguar made Internet users laugh
Firefighters collected the blanket and the story went viral on social media. On X (formerly Twitter), users were amused by the “mess” caused by the woman who initiated the rescue operation. “Give me back my cat,” one user wrote. “Strong stuff on joincity,” another commented
