There is a popular saying: “Not everything is what it seems.” In the jungle, the old saying also applies, especially when it comes to the wild cats of the Pantanal, which, despite their beautiful appearance, pose a danger to humans.

The images of the felines, very common in the Pantanal and Brazil’s Cerrado, were captured in Emas National Park in southwest Goiás by photographer and biologist Kennedy Borges, following comments from biologist Enrique Abraham Charles.
“This image is very difficult to see, despite the fact that he is a daytime cat. And he’s a little bigger than a normal cat,” Enrique said.
Even with a friendly and even “cute” appearance, the animal is wild and can attack. The professional who captured this scene, in a commentary on the publication of biologist Enrique, said that you can even often see a wild cat there.
“Since March, 15 sightings have been recorded with various recordings including photographs and videos. Everything is in Emas National Park or on its outskirts,” Kennedy said.
