“Never mess with a lapwing,” is the caption of a video posted on a profile on the social network TikTok. As the frames progress, the reasons why the author of the recording made such a statement become clearer.

At the beginning of the video, a child is playing on the street, then a man appears. According to the woman behind the camera, they are trying to catch one of the birds.

The child, already a little suspicious and frightened, walks away from the birds. However, the man does not give up. The moment he tries to get closer, the birds begin to take flight, their noise echoing as a choir.

Seeing the danger, the man starts to run, but at that moment the birds are already targeting him. A flock of lapwings rushes upward, disrupts the focus, and only at this moment do the birds abandon the “attack.”
