An unusual and surprising event occurred in Ladispoli, an Italian city near Rome, Italy. The lion managed to escape from the circus, which caused panic and outrage among the residents. The animal was seen roaming the streets and transforming the quiet town into a place worthy of a film.
The city council acted quickly upon learning of the lion’s escape and alerted the community.
Residents were ordered to stay at home while rescue teams and specialized personnel were mobilized to respond to the situation. According to the mayor, the lion was part of Roni Roller’s circus.
“The lion escaped from the circus. We ask you to be very careful and avoid any movement until further notice,” wrote the city’s mayor, Alessandro Grando.
During the five hours that the lion was at large in the city, videos and photographs circulated on social media depicting the animal’s majestic yet terrifying presence on the streets of Ladispoli.
Fortunately, after several hours of tension, the rescue team, which had a helicopter equipped with infrared sensors, managed to calm the animal and capture it safely.
“I hope this episode can awaken the conscience of some and that we can finally put an end to the exploitation of animals in circuses,” the mayor said.
The episode left the residents of Ladispoli in shock, but also a sense of relief when normal life was restored. The lion was returned to the circus without any visible damage.
