In a scene that could easily be taken from a comedy film, a man had an unusual experience while trying to save an alligator that was in the middle of a dirt road in the Pantanal.

What at first seemed like a brave act quickly turned into a comical situation that almost led to an unexpected turn of events.

A video of the incident, which went viral on social media and was posted on the Vidas no Pantanal profile, shows a man sneaking up behind the reptile in hopes of catching it and returning it safely to the wild.

As he prepares to act, his friend begins filming the rescue attempt, commenting with a touch of humor: “By the neck, not by the tail.”

However, the action did not go as planned. As soon as the man tries to catch the alligator, the reptile makes an amazing leap and rushes towards him. Fortunately, the man manages to escape in time by jumping back, avoiding the inevitable encounter with the sharp jaws.

The reptile, clearly spooked by the man’s approach, wastes no time and quickly heads towards the nearby vegetation, disappearing into the bushes as the man and his friend burst into laughter. What could have been a heroic rescue mission turns into a moment of unexpected humor.

Ultimately, the rescue attempt turned into an unforgettable adventure with a touch of comedy.
