Have you ever thought about walking through the woods and suddenly stumble upon a nest full of baby snakes? Well, it happened to a group of people. The video of the litter went viral, and renowned biologist Enrique Abrahan reacted to the images. “Look at the size of the litter,” he commented, “shocked” by the situation.
According to the specialist, the found offspring belong to the species of the reticulated python, the largest snake in the world, the length of which can reach 7.8 meters. According to Enrique, this species can lay between 40 and 80 eggs.
From the pictures, the biologist can say that the eggs have just hatched, that is, the “snakes” have recently left there. “How nice. It’s very nice,” praised the biologist.
The specialist took the opportunity to answer questions about the incident, mainly that the “mother snake” was not in the nest. According to Enrique, some reptiles, including pythons, do not have parental care, that is, they do not take care of their cubs.
In this species of snake, the mother only protects the eggs. When the puppies are born, she stops taking care of them. “They guard the nest, ring, which is typical of pythons,” he says.

More about this type of snake
Python is considered the largest snake in the world, reaching 7.8 meters. It is widely distributed in Asia, in countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and others.
According to biologist Enrique, a python is the only recorded case in the world when a snake ate a person. The specialist points out that these cases are accidents, like the crocodile cases, and that humans are not part of the python food chain.
This species feeds on mammals and birds, has no venom, and, like anacondas, kills by squeezing.
