A dog with a large tumor in its abdomen was rescued Tuesday afternoon (29) in the Prasa area, in Tijucas, on the north coast of Santa Catarina. The animal found by the GOR (Operational Rescue Group) was tied to a wire.
After the local community told the team where the owner of the dog lives, the Russian government waited for the man to arrive. Returning home, he reported that he had not taken the animal for veterinary care.
Then the agents tried to notify the guardian that they would take the animal to the veterinarian within 24 hours, but the man turned down the request because he “didn’t have time.”
Pet underwent surgery to treat a tumor
Thus, the military police were called in to take the owner of the dog to the Tižukas civil police station for abuse. The animal underwent surgery to treat the tumor and will later be available for conscious donation.
The Rescue Team would like to remind you that according to Ordinance No. 1236 of the Federal Council of Veterinary Medicine, any intentional or reckless act that causes unnecessary pain or suffering to animals is considered cruel treatment.
Therefore, denial of veterinary care is considered a crime.
