A cat with a curly tail that looks like a raccoon has attracted the attention of the Internet. “What it is? […] A cat crossed with a raccoon? You have never seen this animal. Look at this crazy thing, ”biologist Enrique Abraao joked on social networks. In the video, a specialist explains what a “different” animal is.
“I bring you a cat that is considered the most beautiful in the world,” says the biologist. This is an otocolobus manul, manul.
The animal that appears in the video is a wild cat baby. According to the biologist, these cats live mainly in Central Asia, and are also found in parts of Russia and the Middle East. “I’m sure you’ve never seen this animal,” says the biologist.
The video, posted by the biologist, has received over 70,000 views and generated several comments, mostly about the sale of the animal. Manul is a wild animal and cannot be domesticated,” says Enrique.
“He looks like a little star monkey”, “what an incredible animal, he deserves to be tamed” and “now I want such a kitten” are some of the comments.

More about the cat
Manul, according to Enrique, is about the size of a small domestic cat. “It is very hairy and feeds mainly on mammals, specializing in eating rodents and rabbits,” says the biologist.
According to Adeline Lima in Secrets of the World via R7, these animals weigh between 3 and 5 kilograms and have very thick coats that help them keep their body temperature warm as they live in colder places.
Another curiosity is the color of the fur, which changes depending on the season. Adeline explains in “Secrets of the World” via R7 that the coat is silver gray in winter and becomes reddish gray in summer.
The manul also has black spots on its forehead, black stripes on its cheeks, and black rings on its tail, hence the resemblance to a raccoon.
Since it is found in a number of countries in Central Asia, it is not in danger of extinction. However, there are regions where it no longer exists. “We are working with the extinction rate in the territories, not with the extinction of the animal. And this is worrisome, despite the fact that it is not subject to extinction of the species and raises fears that all the habitats of this animal are taken over by deforestation, human activity or mining, ”explains biologist Enrique.
