A mango macaw couldn’t resist a treat and agreed to be rescued by firefighters after being trapped in a tree after a violent storm hit Birmingham, England last Tuesday (11).
According to the British newspaper Metro, the bird went missing for two days after a severe storm hit the city where her owner, 52-year-old Karen Godwin, lives.
In desperation, the woman began to look for macaws in the neighborhood where she lives, but to no avail.
“There was all this rain and we knew she was going to be wet and cold, I also wasn’t sure she could eat out in the wild. We expected the worst,” she told Metro.
It was then that Karen heard Mango singing at the top of a pine tree, on a branch 15 meters high. She called the fire department to save her pet. However, the team’s ladders weren’t high enough to reach the animal.

Thanks for all the great posts and comments, I’m crazy what this is on the radio, in the papers and on national TV. The response was overwhelming and I can’t thank everyone enough for tagging me and my small business in so many jobs and for all the words of encouragement, it really goes a long way. For all the mango fans here is the video of when I finally got it. her ????????

Nathan McCain, who cuts trees in the neighborhood, saw Karen’s post on social media and decided to help her.
“There was a pack of corn crackers and I knew she liked to eat them. We could see how excited she was when the cookie was opened. She could be heard saying “please” as they opened the package. And she did it because I always ask, “Where are your manners?” when she wants to treat herself,” Karen said.
Nathan offered some cookies and lollipops for Mango to come and rescue him. “I was bitten, but I was happy to help,” he said, recounting the happy ending to the story.
