“Where there are dead whales, there are likely to be sharks nearby, and this view clearly shows why,” said senior ranger Daniel Clifton. “That’s why we’re asking people to stay away from dead whales that are washed ashore.” – Photo: Reproduction/ND
Clifton emphasized the risk of disease from dead or stranded animals. “Marine animals can also transmit zoonotic diseases, so we should never touch them,” he warned.
