This could be considered another “fisherman’s story”, if not for the video showing a curious, but at the same time desperate observation of the animal. Images posted on social media show the moment when fishermen are hooking a baby capybara.
The filming location is unknown, although it is Brazil. However, biologist Enrique Abrajao, known as O Rei das Cobras, appreciated the video and described the scene in detail. He points out that there were no culprits in the episode.
“No one is to blame that a turtle flew in and grabbed the hook,” the expert compared. He also reported that piercing the ears of an animal does not cause any harm and that cartilage in the body of rodents is quickly restored.
However, according to the expert, the fishermen could quickly release the animal back into the wild. In the video, one could hear the animal mooing loudly, holding on to its hind legs. “It was not necessary to hold the animal like that,” the biologist noted.
