Even biologist Enrique Abrajao, known for unraveling the mysteries of the animal world, was not convinced of the veracity of a video circulating on social networks, in which a bird of prey “kidnaps” a domestic dog and surprises its owner. The act was shared by a biologist this Monday (3).
In a post made on his social media, the biologist recalls that there are several reports of birds of prey having the power and audacity to abduct dead as well as living animals, including larger ones. However, signs of editing on the original footage aroused the expert’s suspicions.
It may be true, but it’s too much of a coincidence. You have a video of birds preying on mountain goats, and all of a sudden you have a “pitoko” in there. But not only that! Why is the video upside down? Why do you send a bird to soar when it actually soars? question.
The expert says that depending on the weight of the animal, the bird needs to take advantage of the air flow or favorable terrain to perform the maneuver. The biologist also says there have been cases where dogs belonging to his friends have been preyed upon by various types of prey, such as the harpy eagle.
