A child had the fear of a lifetime when he woke up from being squeezed and bitten by a large python in Australia. Fortunately, the expert was able to intervene in time and resolve the situation without any problems.
The episode occurred on February 8, when a catcher was called to the family’s home in Queensland, on the east coast of the country. There, the child was attacked by a carpet python (Morelia spilota, no official name in Brazil) about 1 m long. News from R7.

According to the record, a predatory reptile wrapped itself around the boy and bit him on the arm. Despite the frightening scene, trapper Steve Brown said the animal was unlikely to cause serious harm to the boy.
“Snakes don’t attack people,” he told the Newsweek website, adding that they probably got in through the roof of the house, through the hole where the air conditioner was.
At this time of the year, it is common for snakes to hide in houses during the day, to escape from the heat.
“They only bite when they feel threatened or harassed by humans,” Steve said. He suggests that the child must have rolled onto the python in their sleep, which is what triggered the reaction.
The boy passed the tests and is recovering emotionally, but, according to Steve, “is looking forward to going to school with a cool story to tell his classmates.”
