A video of a woman abandoning two puppies went viral on the internet and sparked an uprising in Casadore, in Santa Catarina’s Midwest. Security camera images show a Fiat/Toro parked on the side of Highway SC-350.

The woman runs downstairs with a cardboard box in her hands and throws it on the grass. Two puppies come out of the box. After leaving the animals, she returns to her car and drives away. The rejection occurred on December 6, but the images were posted last Sunday (11) and have already racked up over 2,800 shares.

The property where the puppies were abandoned belongs to Naira Castillo Bertotto’s family. On the Internet, she shared the deed. “We are looking for this woman who dropped a box of two puppies from her hands. He drove from Tacara Verde towards Cazador in a Fiat Toro. We want to return to the owners,” he wrote.

Naira says she wrote that the dogs “fell” out of the woman’s hands to soften the episode. “I thought it was very sad to leave animals like this. It’s very cruel,” he said. ND+.

According to her, animals are often abandoned on family property. “A pregnant bitch was released about three months ago. We welcomed and cared for her and the eight puppies born. We got a family this week for the last two who were still here, but we’re going to keep the dog,” he said.

Abandoned puppies, male and female, are under the supervision of Naira. “We have a family to adopt them and I believe they will come pick them up today, but we will take care of them until they find a safe home. There are many people who want a pet. Leaving is evil,” he added.

Police identify suspects

Naira did not register the police report of the abandonment, as it did not contain enough evidence to confirm the authorship of the crime. However, due to the high profile of the video, the Civil Police learned of the case through the press and opened a police investigation into animal cruelty.

The case is being investigated by the head of the civil police, Adriano Delfino Moreira. “We have identified the vehicle and the people involved. We will keep the details under wraps, but the suspects should be heard in the coming days,” the delegate said.

According to Law 9.605/98, article 32, paragraph 1º A, leaving or cruelty to animals is a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term of 2 to 5 years, in addition to a fine and prohibition of detention.
