After winter – and countless spring cold fronts – many people take advantage of a few sunny weekends to freshen up their “bronze”, many people and many animals too, such as the sea lions seen on the rocks on Zimbros Beach, in Bombinhas, on the North Coast of Santa Catherine.
The animals arrived in the region at the beginning of winter and now, having rested, are exhibited on the rocks for everyone to see, film or photograph. Even when the bathing boat is very close, the animals are not afraid and continue to move along the rock.

The pinnipeds, a group of sea lions, are semi-aquatic and lead a coastal and marine lifestyle. That is why they are often seen resting on the rocks or on the sand of the beach. At this time of the year, species pass through the region because they are on a migratory route.

By the way, this is not the first case of the appearance of a sea lion in the region. Last year the species was spotted on the beaches of Balneario Camboriu, Barra Velha, Porto Belo and Florianopolis.
