According to the portal UOL, the woman kept the vegetables bought in the supermarket in the refrigerator. According to the daughter of the elderly woman, after she picked her up to wash her, she bit her middle finger and started screaming in pain.
Because of this, she was referred to emergency care in private hospitals, but she got worse last Saturday (16).
“Since then we have been in emergencies, she had severe chest pain and until today she ended up in the intensive care unit of the Hospital do Corasan. Ciatox (Poisons Information Center) has relayed to us that scorpion venom does indeed affect the hearts of heart patients, which is her case,” the victim’s daughter said last Monday (age 18) via the Internet.
Also according to UOL, the woman was discharged from the intensive care unit last Tuesday (age 19), but she has yet to undergo a cardiac examination.
In the event of a scorpion sting, the Ministry of Health recommends contacting the nearest specialized hospital and immediately. If possible, take an animal or take a photo to identify the species to assess severity.
Also, wash the sting with soap and water if you are not delaying contacting the public health service.
Also, in no case will serum be shown in the folder, but a health worker can assess the situation. Antidote is indicated in moderate or severe cases.
Also according to UOL, the family of an elderly woman filed a police complaint against a supermarket where they bought spinach.
