A resident of Texas, USA, was shocked to find himself sharing a bed with a huge poisonous centipede. The animal, a specimen of a giant red centipede, was sheltering from the heat at its home in San Antonio.

“It was 7:30 in the morning and I was waking up to get ready for work,” he said, according to the Metro newspaper. “I saw something black that looked like a snake or a giant worm, I wasn’t sure what it was, but I knew it wasn’t good!”;
“My immediate reaction was to move slowly and grab my glasses and cell phone. I started filming because I couldn’t believe it. So I already knew it was a centipede, but I didn’t know which one. I wasn’t sure if it was poisonous. I have never seen such a big one,” the resident added.
He stressed to the newspaper that he had not been bitten and that the centipedes were harmful. Its venom causes a sharp, burning pain around the bite site. The victim may also experience nausea, headache, and even skin necrosis. There are cases when a bite caused kidney failure and a heart attack.
According to Jesse, the insect was about eight inches long.
