Former candidate for capital councilor Claudio Sebben is the owner of a pharmacy banned in Florianópolis for selling counterfeit medicines. The closure, which took place this Friday (15), was made following complaints about the location.
According to a procedural document obtained exclusively by the ND Mais portal, BioPharma, located in Trindade, a central district of the city, sold, in addition to expired drugs, drugs already used by others, which were delivered to be thrown away at the pharmacy.
Procon in Florianópolis even suspended operations there indefinitely. However, this Saturday morning the establishment continues to answer calls (16).
If a pharmacy is opened, according to procedural documents, the pharmacy’s fine can be up to 50 thousand reais.
What a former parliamentary candidate says
In an exclusive interview with ND Mais on Saturday morning (16), the former councilor candidate, who in his 35 years of working in the pharmacy, has never sold expired products.
“The pharmacy was closed because it worked around the clock. I was given a deadline to hire a pharmacist. As for expired medications, they were marked with red labels and we did not sell them. We exchange them in the laboratory, or return them in exchange for another type of product. Expired medications were never sold. All drugs have been identified,” he defends.
Pharmacy closes in Florianopolis
The biopharmaceutical company, accused of selling expired drugs and cosmetics without a doctor’s prescription in Florianópolis, was banned this Friday (15) by the municipal Procon.
According to Procon, the Medical Regulatory Authority received a complaint that a 24-hour pharmacy in Trindad was selling controlled drugs without a doctor’s prescription.
Arriving at the scene, the commission saw that in addition to selling without a prescription, the establishment was selling expired medicines and cosmetics, with counterfeit packaging and without confirmation of origin.
In addition, food was stored under the sink, next to the sewer pipe.
According to the information, this is not the first time the pharmacy has been reported and its location has already become “known” to municipal inspectors.
