Pomerode City Hall announced on Tuesday (12) that the death of a 23-year-old woman from dengue fever on November 30 has been ruled out. The report was published by LACEN (Central Laboratory of Public Health).
According to the City of Pomerode, IGG and IGM serological tests were carried out. The IGG was positive, indicating that the young woman had already been exposed to the dengue virus at some point.
The IGM, which provides information about recent antibodies, was negative, indicating that the infection was not recent. After investigating the case based on signs, clinical symptoms and test results by LACEN, the dengue case was ruled out by the State Directorate of Epidemiological Surveillance (DIVE).

According to a bulletin published by the mayor’s office on Tuesday, Brazil’s most German city currently has 18 confirmed cases of the disease, 10 of which are still under investigation (12). A total of 87 mosquito outbreaks have been reported, with the worst affected area being Central, where 47 outbreaks have been reported.
