A 79-year-old man admitted almost a month ago to the intensive care unit of the Nossa Senhora da Conceição hospital in Tubaran, in the south of the state, was surprised on Tuesday morning by the music of his grandson (28).
Grandfather was surprised
Affectionately called Pedrinho Silva, the patient always loved to sing with his friends and never missed a note in the groups in which he participated. In addition, he has been an active member of the San Lugero Coral Association for over 30 years.
However, after spending so much time in the hospital, Pedro had to take a temporary break from the activities he loves so much, and that is why his grandson Altair da Silva decided to pay a visit, with his voice and guitar, to remember the good times.
Humanization Project
The campaign is part of the What Matters to You Project, created in 2010 in the United States to encourage healthcare professionals to create bonds of compassion and empathy with patients and their families.
This incentive changed the behavior of professionals, turning the question “What is the problem” into “What is important to you?” The company that runs the hospital, Rede Santa Catarina, was the first to implement the project in Latin America in 2016.
