Alô Saúde in Blumenau has started offering a 24-hour digital service on 0800 686 6000 to reduce demand from the city’s healthcare providers and hospitals. The initiative was initiated by the mayor’s office through the Secretariat for Health Promotion (Semus).

The contact form also aims to speed up service and provide flexible access to healthcare. The initiative, launched on November 10th in the main hall of City Hall, represents progress in access to healthcare and provides flexibility in patient care in our municipality. The mayor of Blumenau, Mario Hildebrandt, speaks about this.

“As well as being an effective alternative approach to providing care to the public, the online service allows people to describe their symptoms and receive strong advice for their case whenever and wherever they need it,” he states.

Deputy Mayor of the municipality Maria Regina de Souza Soar notes the implementation of the Alo Saude program to help the population. “The resource is an important addition to the health of our city, since thanks to the functionality we will be able to improve services and provide more people with access to consultations and recommendations through a video call,” he analyzes.

Health Minister Marcelo Lanzarin notes that this initiative promotes flexibility of access for the user, who can access the service 24 hours a day and receive assistance or appropriate referrals wherever they are. “It is important to emphasize that this investment benefits residents and is another way to improve services to the public,” he emphasizes.

To make the Alô Saúde service accessible to the population, the Blumenau City Hall is investing approximately R$ 1.2 million, divided into specialized consultations, digital emergency consultations and telescreening.

To receive assistance, the user must first contact us on 0800 686 6000 or via the Pronto app. Both the call and the video call will then be forwarded to the nurse who will carry out the first assessment.

If the patient is asymptomatic, the technician will provide general advice and discontinue service. If a user experiences symptoms, they will be transferred to a triage nurse and referred for telemedicine to a GP.

This healthcare professional will provide all recommendations, prescriptions, referrals (if necessary) and complete the conversation. The call is then returned to the review team to obtain user feedback.

The service is provided by medical students from the Regional University of Blumenau (FURB) under the supervision of doctors from the municipal health network.
