Funding for the work was made possible through an agreement between the state Department of Health and the division in April 2022. Investments in renovations and equipment amounted to R$6.6 million.
The new general intensive care unit has a total of 10 beds and modern equipment. The newly expanded diagnostic center will offer X-ray, ultrasound, CT, mammography, endoscopy and colonoscopy services to the public.
During the opening, hospital director Beatriz Ramos Adriana Machado Ferrari stressed the importance of partnership with the state for the work.
“Today, the Beatriz Ramos Hospital serves an average of nearly 5,000 people in its emergency department, emergency department, and emergency department. Thus, these improvements will mean improved quality, greater safety of care and flexibility in work, since previously laboratory tests, like CT scans, were performed outside. Now all these tests can be carried out inside the hospital,” he estimates.
Brusque Hospital received 16 new beds in intensive care units
Subsequently, late Saturday (11) morning, the Governor and Secretary inaugurated 16 new beds in the Intensive Care Unit of the Azambuja de Brusque Hospital. Ten beds for adults and six for newborns.
The investment for this expansion amounted to R$ 1.8 million dedicated to equipment. The construction work was in turn carried out by the hospital department itself, which invested R$490,000 in the acquisition of adult intensive care unit beds as well as other monitoring equipment.

Because we see the result of the resources invested here in the quality of the clinical staff, the quality of those who care for the hospital, those who run the hospital, so I am very glad to be here and to be able to contribute as we already contribute,” says Governor Jorginho Mello (Poland).
Electric adult intensive care unit beds were purchased under an amendment by the current Governor during his 2021 term as Senator. The equipment guarantees greater safety and comfort for patients. Secretary of State Carmen Zanotto emphasized the importance of these investments to expand health care in the state.
“We are committed to activating every possible bed in our own hospital network and our partner hospital network. We are working around the clock to expand healthcare in our state. Here at Azambuja Hospital we have such a partnership and 16 more ICU beds will be available to the community,” he said.
Apart from the immediate benefits to public health, the partnership with the state government has also enabled Azambuja Hospital to begin performing high-complexity surgeries in orthopedics and cardiology through SUS (Unified Health System) this year, providing care to patients. elective surgeries are awaiting from other cities in the region.
