This year Caism (Centre for Comprehensive Women’s Health) completes 11 years of activity in Blumenau. The service is offered by Semus (Secretariat for Health Promotion) and provides specialized assistance and care to patients.
From October 2022 to September of this year, about 17.3 thousand specialized services were provided in the areas of general gynecology, obstetrics, mastology, nursing and psychology.
According to the mayor’s office, 277 gynecological operations and 12 general mastological operations, 11,917 consultations, 288 cervical biopsies and 228 installations of an intrauterine device (IUD) were recorded. Caism’s average service volume is 1,000 patients per month.
Procedures aimed at women’s health
Caism is accessed through the patient’s medical reference facility via SisReg (National Regulatory System SisReg).
On-site screenings, consultations and various procedures are offered to prevent cancer of the cervix, vagina, vulva and breast, such as biopsy, cauterization, colposcopy, as well as insertion and removal of IUDs, prenatal care, family planning, auriculotherapy and psychological support.
“It is very important to have a space that encourages knowledge of rights in the field of health, sexuality and body care, and develops concrete actions for promotion, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation, especially for women,” emphasizes Deputy Mayor Maria Regina de Souza Soar .
The Caism team consists of nurses, nurses, gynecologists, surgeons, psychologists and coordinators.
The service is attached to the AGF Center (General Family Outpatient Clinic) in the Argentine Republic. Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 to 19:00.
