One classic! It only takes one relationship to end, and most women run to the salon, return to the gym, and start developing new habits. But why is this happening? The aDiversa podcast episode will discuss the symbolism of the changes that have taken place since the split.
To talk about this topic, Adriana Jeronimo, a master’s student in anthropology and a member of the NIGS (Gender Identity and Subjectivity Core) UFSC (Federal University of Santa Catarina), gathered on the podcast. She opens the debate by putting forward the principle that a divorced woman may not be well received by society and that this is something historical.
“Society views a woman who gets divorced as a person who will not achieve the same that she would achieve if she was married, so this false image is built, which is largely based on the marriage convention by which a woman confirms her life.” explains.
As for the podcast host, Luisa Coelho, who specializes in “dates” provided by relationship apps, says the separation has forced her to organize her time and schedule to devote herself to “contacts” on relationship apps. “I had to organize myself in order to have 10 good days apart from taking photos and talking,” he adds.
Hairdresser, beauty coach and makeup artist Rinaldo Campos also took part in the conversation and told how women who have broken off relationships go to his salon in search of a recognition procedure.
“I learned that she didn’t go through a transformation, she began to recognize herself for who she really is. Many will cut their hair to clean up relationships, but also to truly rediscover who they were,” she concludes.
