The child would get up in bed and lean against the window that opened. In doing so, she would fall first on the roof, and then on the ground.
A neighbor first rescued the unconscious girl and took her to the fire department and then to the emergency room (UPA) in Bombinhas. The PM (military police) was called to the scene where he spoke to the child’s mother.
“desperate” mother
The mother said that she would leave the child in bed while the daughters got ready for school. She would get up to change the smallest one, at which point the baby would get up, leaning against the wall and window above the bed. The mother would be in despair. On the way between the house and the barracks, the child opened his eyes and began to move again.
The UPA medical team reported that the child’s condition was stable, but he was intubated and transported by helicopter from the fire station to Itajai. First, the child underwent a CT scan at the Marieta Conder Bornhausen Hospital, and then he was hospitalized at the Pekeno Anho Hospital.

The police went to the family’s home, where they found the bed very close to the window, which was also less than 30 cm from the furniture.
“Because the window was not locked, the child leaned over and pushed it, falling from an estimated height of 3 meters,” the corporation said in a statement. The roof on which the child initially fell was about 40 cm below the window.
The cause of death is being investigated by the IML (Medical Institute of Law).
