The Gaspar Health Secretariat in the Itajai Valley has warned the public about fraudulent attempts on behalf of the city hospital. Fraudsters send messages to the relatives of patients admitted to the department and extort money for the purchase of medicines and examinations.
According to the mayor’s office, those involved in this are trying to convince the victims that medicines and tests will be provided for a fee to a certain company and laboratory.
The Secretariat also emphasized that this kind of action is not consistent with the behavior of a hospital that does not contact patients or their families by telephone to request payment for consultations, examinations, operations, hospitalizations or medications.
Patient health information or personal information is provided by the hospital staff personally, personally.
