Spain has announced the launch of an app that promises to tell women if their husbands are doing their homework right. The mechanism aims to eliminate any imbalance in marital relations by taking into account the number of hours that each family member spends at work.
According to Crescer magazine, the app could be launched in the coming months. The government said the project is part of a “shared responsibility” plan.
“We women spend more time on housework than men,” Spain’s Minister for Gender Equality and Domestic Violence, Angela Rodriguez, told a conference in Geneva, according to The Times.
Also, according to the minister, more than half of the women who took part in a survey conducted by the National Statistical Institute of Spain, said that they do most of their work at home. At the same time, men performed only 15% of the actions.
As an example, the minister cited cleaning the kitchen. According to her, in many cases this task is performed by women and, in addition, they need to buy extra soap and make sure that there is food at home.
The minister wants people to be able to see how much time each family member spends doing household chores when using the app. And this applies not only to men, but also to sons, daughters, roommates and any other relationship.
