The capital’s 1st Civil Police Division concluded that dentist Anderson Silva, owner of the Hof Clinic in Florianopolis, inflicted “deliberate bodily harm” on a woman who was hospitalized after an on-site aesthetic procedure. The information was received exclusively by the ND+ portal this Thursday (18).
The conclusion of the investigation has been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office of the Florianopolis Special Criminal Court, which decides whether to indict Anderson Silva or not, or to reach an agreement with both parties involved. Under article 129, paragraph 6, of the Brazilian Penal Code, if found guilty, a dentist can be sentenced to between two months and one year in prison. According to the law, guilty of causing bodily harm is the lack of intent to harm the victim.
CRO-SC (Regional Board of Dentistry of Santa Catarina) has already suspended on Monday (15) Anderson Silva’s professional registration for 30 days.
During the investigation, the woman, who wished to remain anonymous, was examined by a coroner from the IGP (General Institute of Expertise). The specialist noted that the victim received bodily injuries and was in danger of life. It was this conclusion that served as one of the grounds for the police to complete the investigation and forced Anderson to sign a detailed deadline, which he was aware of from the results of the report.
Police also heard from Anderson Silva and his wife, Daisy Karina Arenhart da Silva. Both remained silent during the interrogation.
One of the specialists who helped the woman when she was hospitalized gave an interview to the portal on Tuesday afternoon (17) and explained the condition.
“I cannot provide information about a specific case due to medical confidentiality. However, if the question is that patients with angioedema can develop anaphylaxis and are at risk of death, then the answer is yes,” he says.
When asked about the trial, Anderson Silva did not say if he wanted to take a position on the issue. The space remains open.

A resident of Florianopolis filed an application with the 3rd Criminal Court of the capital after being hospitalized due to the use of Botox. The complaint was filed against the Hof Clinic, a well-known beauty clinic in the city, which was suspended by the municipal procon on the 4th after an investigation into irregularities in product sales and customer service.
Dentist Anderson Silva and his wife, pharmacist Daisy Karina Arenhart da Silva, are cited in a document submitted by the victim’s defense as they own the clinic. Report no data+ received access to representation, the receipt of which was confirmed by the TJSC (Santa Catarina Court).
According to the dentist, he has never seen a woman. Anderson also stated that in more than 20 years of his career, no one had problems like the ones the patient mentioned.
The woman says that the first application of Botox was done on August 12, 2022, when there was no reaction. A little over a month later, on September 6, she came to the clinic for a “back” appointment, when a new application was made.
However, the second application caused an allergic effect. Approximately 1:30 after the injection, the client reported that she began to feel intense heat in the places where the botulinum toxin was applied, and then all over her face. According to a complaint filed with the 3rd Criminal Court of the capital, along with a feeling of heat, her face began to swell, “completely disfigured” in a very short time.
“In desperation, she began to compress with a wet towel in running water to reduce fever and swelling. The situation worsened, and being alone at home, she tried several times through various channels to contact the clinic and those responsible for it, ”the victim’s defense document says.
However, according to the complaint, having received no help, the woman called her husband, who was at work. She was then taken to the nearest medical facility, Unimed Hospital in San Jose. During the trip, the woman reports that she felt shortness of breath, nausea, and chest pains.
“During emergency procedures, an increase in heart rate up to 230 beats per minute, lack of oxygenation and ongoing angioedema, which caused swelling of the entire face and part of the throat,” the submission specifies.
