The influenza vaccination campaign in Santa Catarina will start next Monday (10). According to Dive/SC (Santa Catarina Epidemiological Surveillance Authority), all municipalities of Santa Catarina will be vaccinated, and this action will last until May 31.
This year the campaign will be carried out in one stage for all priority groups, there will be no division into stages, the goal is to vaccinate at least 90% of each of these groups. In 2022, vaccination coverage was 63.4%.

In Santa Catarina, the Campaign’s target audience is 2,887,025 million people, consisting of the following priority groups:
- children from 6 months to 5 years;
- medical workers;
- pregnant women and mothers up to 45 days after childbirth;
- elderly people aged 60 and over;
- public and private school teachers;
- Indian people;
- people with noncommunicable chronic diseases and other special clinical conditions;
- people with permanent disabilities;
- specialists of the security and rescue forces and the armed forces;
- truckers;
- employees of urban and long-distance public road passenger transport;
- port workers;
- employees of the penitentiary system, adolescents and youth aged 12 to 21 years as part of social and educational activities;
- population deprived of liberty.
This year’s vaccine is trivalent and protects against three subtypes of the influenza virus: H1N1, H3N2 and influenza B. It can be used with other vaccines in the national immunization schedule, including Covid-19.
Flu
Influenza is a highly contagious viral infection that affects the respiratory system, according to the State Department of Health. People infected with the influenza virus can have mild to severe symptoms that require hospitalization and can lead to death.
The most common symptoms are fever, muscle pain, sore throat, headache, runny nose and cough. More vulnerable people, especially those with chronic diseases, the elderly, children, may develop pneumonia, sinusitis, otitis media, and dehydration.
Florianopolis
The city of Florianopolis has announced that immunizers will be applied in the city at the following locations:
Mainland (from 7:00 to 17:00)
- – Coloninha, Abraão, Balneario and van in Parque de Coqueiros – from 9:00 to 18:00.
South (from 7:00 to 17:00)
- Alto Ribeirão, Armacão, Costeira, Carianos, Campeche, Caieira, Lagoa da Conceicao, Morro das Pedras, Ribeirão da Ilha and Tapera.
center
- Tuesday (11) and Thursday (13), vaccination van at TICEN – from 9:00 to 18:00;
- All medical centers from 7:00 to 17:00, except CS Prainha;
- Vaccination Help Center – Women’s and Children’s Clinic – 07:00 to 19:00
North
- All health centers (according to the opening hours of each department).
The logistics of the influenza campaign may change in relation to where the vaccine is offered, given the current epidemiological situation with dengue fever.
