Throughout April, the Instituto TEA hosts promotions such as live performances, free e-book releases, lectures and music shows.
April 2 was World Autism Awareness Day, and this year’s campaign theme is “More information, less prejudice.”
In this context, important issues include: the inclusion of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) in the social and school environment; access of autistic people to the labor market; development of spaces adapted to atypical audiences; and, last but not least, educating the public about the characteristics of autism.
“We have a mission in April! Talk a lot about autism, demystify disability, set good examples, talk about inclusion, give feedback and reinforce the topic.
We want society to know what autism is and how to introduce atypical people into society, into the labor market, into the school environment,” anticipated physiotherapist Oskar Nehme, partner director of the TEM Institute, a clinic specializing in the treatment of autism. children and other developmental disabilities, in an interview with GIRO ND this Wednesday (05).
