The project called “Customized Home Meal Menu 60+” is unprecedented and was signed last Monday (20th) with the City Hall of Jaragua do Sul and the Municipal Council for the Rights of the Elderly for a development period with the São José Hospital. .
According to the announcement, the action will provide individual dietary assistance to elderly people hospitalized in 24 beds of sector 3B of the 60+ program. The nutritious menu will be designed to be as close as possible to the patients’ homemade food, with an emphasis on prevention, promotion and restoration of health.
About 450,000 reais will be transferred by the council through the Municipal Fund for the Protection of the Rights of the Elderly for one year to implement the schedule. The resources will be used in the hospital kitchen structure, with crews and work tools to meet daily demand, in addition to the implementation of a customized menu for elderly patients.
In addition, the patient and the people involved in their care will be given nutritional advice in terms of nutrition education.
For San Jose Hospital Director Mauricio José Souto-Major, the agreement will differentiate and more humanize care for patients aged 60+. “We are going to improve the quality of service for this public. We want them to feel at home,” he explained.
