Former President Jair Bolsonaro was hospitalized in Orlando, Florida, USA this Monday (9). The politician has been in the country since the end of December, when he went on a business trip before officially leaving office.
According to sources consulted by R7, the former president complained of “severe stomach pains” and had to be taken to the hospital. The transportation was carried out in a car that was at the disposal of the family, accompanied by advisers assigned to assist the former army captain.
In the medical unit, the president is undergoing a preliminary examination to determine the causes of pain. Doctors are assessing whether there is a connection with the consequences of the stabbing he received in 2018 during the election campaign.
Bolsonaro went to the country after he decided not to participate in the handover ceremony for President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, which took place on January 1.
On Sunday (8), US congressmen defended Bolsonaro’s extradition to Brazil after attacks by extremists on the headquarters of the Three Powers in Brasilia, who do not agree with the defeat of the former president in the elections.
