According to a bulletin released this Wednesday (12) by the Brazilian Ministry of Health, 5,114 cases and 63 deaths from Covid-19 have been reported in 24 hours. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 34.7 million cases and 687,026 deaths have been recorded.
Santa Catarina remains in 6th place among the 27 subjects of the federation in terms of the number of people infected with the new coronavirus. Since the start of the pandemic, 1,879,824 people have been infected with the coronavirus in the state. A total of 22,413 people died.
The good news was the decline in new cases and deaths. Comparing the Ministry of Health bulletins for Sunday (9) and Wednesday (12), there were only 909 new cases and one death in Santa Catarina.
This Wednesday Bulletin (12) does not include cases and deaths from Bahia, Federal District, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Norte, Roraima and Tocantins. The number of deaths in Mato Grosso do Sul was also not updated.
The number of recovered from the disease is 33.94 million, which is 97.7% of the number of cases of Covid-19.
Champions of deeds and deaths
Sao Paulo is the federal unit with the most cases (6.1 million) and deaths (175,202). In terms of the number of cases, the second and third states with the most positive results are Minas Gerais (3.88 million) and Parana (2.75 million). The lowest number of cases is in Acre (149,756), Roraima (175,177) and Amapa (178,313).
In terms of the number of deaths, the second and third places are occupied by Rio de Janeiro (75,765) and Minas Gerais (63,820). The lowest figures are in Akko (2029), Amapa (2164) and Roraima (2173).
vaccination
According to the Ministry of Health, 485.3 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been applied to date. Of this total, 180 million receive the first dose, 161.6 million the second dose and 5 million the single dose.
Booster shots – 99.4 million, second booster shots – 34.5 million and additional shots – 4.8 million.
