The capital of Santa Catarina is the city with the most confirmed cases of monkeypox in the state. Of the 262 confirmed cases on Tuesday, 92 were in Florianopolis. Of this number, 18 have been classified as probable cases, 736 have been discarded, and 220 remain under investigation.

Municipalities of Santa Catarina with more than 10 confirmed cases: Florianopolis (92), Balneario Camboriu (38), Joinville (27), Blumenau (20), San José (15), Itajai (13) and Palos (13).

The cities of Balneario Pizarras, Bombinhas, Barra Velha, Ilhota, Itapema, Lajes, Leoberto Leal, Paulo López, Porto Belo, Riquesa and São Bento do Sul have only one confirmed case each.

The majority of confirmed cases of monkeypox are men, 93.1%. Only 1.5% are children under 10 years old.

Main signs and symptoms of confirmed cases

Of the confirmed cases, 95.4% have skin rashes (lesions), followed by fever (49.8%), headache (37.5%), myalgia (37.2%), asthenia (26.8% ), adenomegaly (23%) and sore throat (20.7%).

Among the main symptoms are a rash or skin lesions, followed by swollen or swollen lymph nodes, fever, body aches, headache, chills, and weakness.
