According to Lillian Galao, coordinator of epidemiological surveillance, the focus is on polio, especially in the age group from 1 to 5 years, where the goal is to reach 95%. However, so far only 1/3 (one third) of the 13,200 children marked on the map have been vaccinated.
“We ask that families take their children for vaccinations and update the booklet given that vaccination coverage has declined across the country,” said Lillian Galao, coordinator of epidemiological surveillance.
Vaccines
On Saturday, in addition to polio, other vaccines are available for renewal. These include hepatitis A and B, penta (DTP/Hib/hep B), pneumococcal 10-valent, VIP (inactivated polio vaccine), HRV (human rotavirus vaccine), and meningococcal C (conjugated).
Immunizers against OPV (oral polio vaccine), yellow fever, MMR (measles, rubella, mumps), tetravirus (measles, rubella, mumps, chickenpox), DTP (triple bacterial vaccine), chickenpox and quadrivalent HPV (virus human papillomas).
HPV, dT (double adult), yellow fever, triple viral, hepatitis B, dTpa, and meningococcal ACWY (conjugated) vaccines are available for adolescents.
Campaign
In Chapeco, more than nine thousand children and teenagers have updated their vaccination records since the start of the campaign. Epidemiological surveillance warns that it is important to take a document and a vaccination book with you.
Anyone who wants to take advantage of the opportunity to get vaccinated against Covid-19 or flu can also go to the health center. The campaign will run until September 9th and will continue to be available at 26 medical points next week.
