Doctor. Raphael explains the four procedures he works with that he considers safe options for those looking to get rid of their glasses:

Lasik

This is the world’s most used method of laser correction of degrees, both myopia and farsightedness, astigmatism and some cases of presbyopia. The procedure is carried out with an ultrathin incision in the most superficial layer of the cornea, and the laser is applied to its inner layer. Thus, there is less room for healing, more postoperative comfort and, on average, vision begins to recover quickly, about 24 hours. You can troubleshoot far and near vision problems.

PRK

In this technique, the degree is corrected by applying a laser to the surface of the cornea without incisions. It is indicated for patients with thinner, asymmetric or younger overall corneas. This is one of the safest methods, but recovery is slower compared to Lasik. The specialist warns that in the postoperative period it is necessary to avoid exposure to dust and wind on the eyes for at least 1 month after the operation.

Phakic lens implants or ICL

So-called phakic lenses are implanted in the eye, fixed in or behind the iris to correct high myopia, farsightedness and astigmatism when laser refractive surgery cannot be performed in cases of very high grade or very thin corneas. These lenses can correct approximately 20 degrees of myopia, 10 degrees of farsightedness and 7 degrees of astigmatism. It is performed under local anesthesia, hospitalization is not required, restoration of vision begins in the first 24 hours.

Facorefractive surgery

With this new and modern procedure, we can solve the problem of cataracts and at the same time correct the degree so that the patient does not need glasses for both distance and near.
