Everything in the collection speaks of a space-time journey from the present to the distant past. Among the key figuresExist skirts Dior spring-summer 2023: modern, perfect for a modern wardrobe, but at the same time filled with the charm of a bygone era. Maria Grazia Chiuri’s task is to give them back their soul, to bring them back into fashion: on the catwalk parade of skirts with crinoline, made of a riot of lace and bows, and conceived as a very sensual lingerie, transformed into an evening look. Gathered edges and frills reinforce the concept highlighted by the bandeau bras, crafted for a very sensual sheer effect.
Modernity takes over in the collection: they are very high waisted short skirts, pleated and beige, which are worn with oversized, soft and slightly unbuttoned white shirts. They are also worn with pleated midi skirts with glossy finishes: the black and white contrast is enhanced by sheer tights and platform shoes.
White, black, but also an expression of imminent spring: on the Dior runway floral skirts. Floral motifs are repeated in full print on sarong-like flounced models worn over matching shorts. And, of course, on large rims of dresses, echoing the aesthetics of famous A New Look founding father of the house, Monsieur Christian Dior.

Inspiration is clearly identifiable: Caterina de Medici seems to come alive in a long dress with luxurious white lace.reminiscent of the past. Making it a metaphor for modernity, the silhouette is once again seen from a more feminine perspective – and a feminist one, it should be added when talking about Maria Grazia Chiuri – through a large front slit.
Toponymy also remains important: the creative director restores their ancient meaning in the study of place names and geographical maps. That is, it is an important tool for research. The place, however, is the most expensive for a house: Paris. With its streets and crossroads, its monuments and squares. Corsets and cargo pants, trench coats with matching straps, asymmetric mini dresses and bomber jackets, shorts combined with long outerwear: everything becomes a means of exploration in the Dior Spring-Summer 2023 fashion collection.
