The big day has arrived and London is already dressed in its most beautiful colors to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, the most unique event in the history of the United Kingdom, boasting the longest living sovereign in history. As the Official Partner of The Queen’s Platinum Anniversary Pageant, Burberry is celebrating Her Majesty’s 70th birthday with a series of special initiatives..

An icon of British fashion around the world, the brand has partnered with historic royal palaces to support Superbloom, the flower show that will surround the Tower of London in honor of the Queen from today, June 2, the start date for the celebrations. . As the main sponsor of the project, Burberry is presenting two original outdoor installations, including Burberry Art Wall art in collaboration with digital artist John Emmony. “For Superbloom, I drew inspiration from the details of Elizabethan tapestries and textile designs and visualized nature unfolding in these large scenes,” explains the artist. In my work, I use 3D and CGI techniques to render a version of reality. In this case, I wanted to take the beauty of British fauna, flora and fauna and imagine how it comes to life and thrives in a world where technology and nature coexist.”

A large floating lawn has been created next to the mural, which will be moored directly in front of the Tower of London on the Thames., inspired by the Burberry logo. Designed to honor flora and fauna, the Burberry Floating Meadow is an eco-friendly zero-waste facility that serves as an extension of Superbloom. With over 5,000 plants, many of which are native to England’s river ecosystems, the turf is a hymn to biodiversity and the brand’s commitment to addressing the climate crisis, highlighting the role that natural grasslands and marshes play in carbon storage and that flowering species are involved in providing food and nectar of pollinators and common fauna along the river. The materials used to build the garden include 1.4 tons of recycled plastic collected from rivers across the UK, equivalent to 58,000 plastic bottles or 3.3 million plastic straws. Once the installation is complete, every element of the lawn will be reused or recycled, while all plants will be replanted elsewhere by Burberry volunteers and will live on in community projects at the Holly Park School Welfare Garden in Barnet and the Space for an audition at the Caversham Group Practice in Kentish Town.

To celebrate the special anniversary of Queen Elizabeth, Burberry also created an exclusive handmade silk scarf in honor of the Platinum Anniversary.. inspired by nature, “Queen’s Platinum Jubilee” decorated with yews, bluebells, butterflies and squirrels intertwined with figures of four birds representing each of the four British nations: the robin for England, the black grouse for Scotland, the sparrow hawk for Northern Ireland and the golden eagle for Wales. The silk scarf is available online and at select Burberry stores worldwide. Platinum Anniversary it will also grace the flags and windows of Burberry stores in the City of London during the anniversary celebrations.

In addition to the noted initiatives, Burberry is also partnering with a new generation of creatives by hosting a workshop at Armley Park Primary School in Leeds where students were challenged to create artwork and messages for the Queen to celebrate this milestone.. Each image or message has been enlarged and displayed at over 80 bus stops throughout Westminster, close to the Platinum Anniversary Pageant site. The initiative supports Marcus Rashford, MBE, National Literacy Trust and Macmillan Children’s Books to help young people develop their literacy skills. The House’s commitment is to provide funding to transform library spaces at ten of the most needy schools in Manchester, Liverpool and London, ensuring children have access to a safe environment and resources to develop their potential.
