That doesn’t happen in books!

second season Shadow and bones made big changes to the books Lee Bardugo on which the work is based. Between characters who live or die, the end of certain plots and a hint of what’s to come Alina Starkova (Jessie May Lee), much turned out to be not as fans of the literary work expected.

At the end of the second season, the main character goes against the rules of her universe and warns bagra (Zoe Wanamaker), used abomination – real and forbidden magic of this world – to bring Bad (Archie Renault) come back to life. This is different from what happens in the book, where the return of the character is explained by the fact that, as an amplifier, he two lifesallowing Tolya and Tamara bring it back with your bleeding skills. The only equal element is that, just like in the series, he loses his tracker ability.

Thus the final act leading Alina lose your strength it’s the use of three boosters, as well as splitting her Sun Caster skill, allowing several other people to awaken that power during the final battle. In the end, Alina and Mal get together and decide to lead a quiet life, get married and restore the orphanage they grew up in.

Alina’s ending changes continue to establish a connection between the main character and Alexander (Ben Barnes).

Already in the series, the price of Mel’s resurrection is that the girl’s powers become same as dark, and in the season finale, she is shown using the villain’s signature shadow blade. The character’s translator commented on the matter, saying:

“At the end of the second season, it was definitely hinted that perhaps something is growing inside Alina, some kind of darkness,” Jessie Mei Li told TVLine. “The show talks so much about the price, the price you have to pay to use dark magic. She touched the dark side of things, so we will see – after Kirigan dealt with the abomination – obviously we will see something happen to Alina.

Both seasons of Shadow and Bones are available on Netflix. A third season has yet to be confirmed though showrunner Eric Heisserer revealed plans for more seasons as well as spin off concentrated in Six of Crowsthe work of Bardugo starring Korvos, who have already appeared in the series.
