‘Power Rangers’ cast pays tribute to Jason David Frank
The cast of the Power Rangers franchise spoke out about the loss of an actor
Last Sunday (20) it was announced that Jason David Frank, the actor best known for his role as the eternal Tommy, green ranger in the original Power Rangers, he died at the age of 49. The announcement took everyone by surprise, including his former program partners such as Austin St. John Red Ranger and Amy Jo Johnson Pink Ranger.
St. John posted a photo on his Instagram in which Frank said: “Once a ranger, always a ranger, condolences and prayers.” Meanwhile, Johnson also commented on Instagram: “Jace, you were beautiful and truly one of a kind. My life won’t be the same without your frantic, fun, loving and creative bundle of energy. I will always love you dear friend. Please rest in peace.”
In addition to these two, other actors from the Power Rangers franchise have commented on the loss, such as, Walter Emmanuel JonesThe Black Ranger commented: “I can’t believe it, my heart is sad to lose another member of our special family.” And also the second Red Ranger, Steve Cardenaswho said:
“Words cannot describe the shock and sadness I feel right now. Jason David Frank will forever be an icon. He dedicated his life to the Power Rangers brand and more importantly to his fans. Jason was the first to welcome me on set in 1994, and then he introduced me to social media, comics, and organized events around the world so I could connect with you all like we used to. I will be eternally grateful. Wherever he went, he gave fans an experience that would last forever. He elevated the Mighty Morphin franchise to a pop culture phenomenon. JDF was a kind soul and my brother on and off the stage. Ranger Country has lost a true hero. We are equally shaken by the devastating news. My condolences to Tammy, her family, our family and all of you. I will always be grateful to you, Jay. I hope you finally find the peace you’ve been dreaming of.”
representative Frank sent a statement to TMZ asking them to respect Confidentiality families at this delicate moment. Jason David Frank currently working on a film Legend of the White Dragonperformance inspired by power Rangers and which is expected to be released later this year.
