After 14 years at the helm of Van Gogh, Leire Martinez spoke about Amaya Montero and the various controversies they have been involved in. “Usually I don’t like to speak out on Amaya issues. because I don’t like lighting fires. Everything that has already happened, I don’t like it, I’m a little aloof. This is not my war,” said the vocalist.
In all sincerity, the current soloist of the Basque group recalled that there were certain things that she did not like about the behavior of Amaya Montero. “Yeah, I’m not going to cheat on you” she told the journalist who interviewed her. One of the biggest controversies came when the band’s former vocalist criticized Leira Martinez for signing an Amaya era album.
“There are certain albums that I don’t sign because I don’t want to cause negative emotions. But it’s also true that people insist on me and tell me, “But the album is mine,” and I sign it. Product, once it is sold, it belongs to the buyer“, – says Leira Martinez in an interview that was broadcast on “Socialité”.
Is reconciliation possible?
The singer confirms that she has been repeatedly asked to duet with Amaya Montero: “This is what happens often, cooperation between them. To be honest, I don’t know what to answer you. It’s not a decision I would have to make on my own.”
In addition, the current vocalist of the group regrets that this situation has developed, as she says that she would have been grateful when she began her career at the head of LODH to meet the previous singer. “We took the same place in the group and I sympathize with her many times. I deeply admire and respect her. I would also like to sit down with her for coffee and tell me about her experience. It was something that was not invented,” he laments.
