Christian Bale had to stop talking to Chris Rock while filming his new film.
The actor went to drastic measures to stay in character!
Known for his strong commitment to his roles, the actor Christian Bale ran into a curious obstacle while filming his new film, Amsterdam. In an interview with IndieWire, Bale said he needed Stop talking With Chris Rockwho is also involved in the film to be able to focus on the recording process.
The reason for such a drastic measure? According to Bale, The Rock’s jokes were so funny that he just couldn’t stop laughing. So, in order to get into the character the way he wanted it, Christian stopped talking to the comedian to finish the director’s film. David O. Russell.
Bale said:
“I remember my first day [Chris Rock]I was so excited to meet him because I am a big fan of his work as a comedian. So he came and started doing his thing… David [O. Russell] asked him to tell me some stories that I didn’t know he would tell me how David usually works. And I was in love. But Chris is so funny and I realized I couldn’t act because I was just becoming a Christian laughing at Chris Rock. So I went up to him and said, “Dude, I love talking to you and we can be friends, but I can’t do that anymore.” David didn’t invite me to do this movie to see me laugh. He wants me to be Bert [personagem de Bale] and I forget how to be Bert.
